GAINESVILLE -- Reports say the University of Florida is finalizing a deal to bring Mississippi State head coach Dan Mullen to Gainesville to replace Jim McElwain. Yahoo Sports and ESPN say the deal could be finalized by the end of Sunday.

Mullen has 69 wins in nine years in Starkville, and was the offensive coordinator on UF's last two national title winning teams under Urban Meyer.  UF Athletic Director Scott Stricklin has worked with Mulllen at Missippi State, and was on the search committee that hiried Mullen away from Florida.

Mullen has taken Mississippi State to bowl games each of the last seven seasons leading the Bulldogs.
