Record setting day on Wall Street, Dow and NASDAQ close at another all-time high

Strong earnings, more promising economic data and trade progress

NEW YORK (AP) — Stocks are ending mostly higher on Wall Street, marking another set of records for the Dow Jones Industrial Average and the Nasdaq.

The S&P 500 index slipped slightly on Tuesday, weighed down by losses in health care, technology and other sectors.

Banks and energy companies did well. Bank of America climbed 1.3% and Exxon Mobil added 2%.

Medical device maker Medtronic gave up 1.5%.

The S&P 500 fell 3 points, or 0.1%, to 3,074.

The Dow climbed 30 points, or 0.1%, to 27,492. The Nasdaq edged up 1 point to 8,434.

Bond prices fell. The yield on the 10-year Treasury rose to 1.86%.
